Replacement of our popular WebSDR: 7 bands in parallel

09.03.2024

Wow, Wolfgang HB9RYZ did it again: He installed an all new WebSDR on Mount Rigi in the middle of a wind storm. He just finished the work on time to catch the last cable car down. A few minutes later they had to shut down operations due to the increasing wind speed.

Our previous WebSDR failed and could not be restarted. The new WebSDR runs on an HP EliteDesk 800 G2 PC, Intel Core i5-6600T 2.70 GHz, 16GB RAM, 250 GB SSD Disk (64-Bit), 7 USB-Ports, Debian 10 (Buster) Linux. It uses 7 (seven) Airspy HF+ Discovery SDR Receivers connected to the Wellbrook Loop ALA1530LN, ELAD ASA 15 and ASA 16 active antenna splitters and a CCMC30 Common Mode Noise Filter from Bonito.

You can click on the top tab of the WebSDR web browser based user interface for more information and pictures.

The WebSDR covers 10, 12, 15, 17, 20, 40 and 80m in parallel! See the picture. Best of all: It is still entirely free of charge for you to use and up to 100 users can be served simultaneously.
